Aiyla is 18, a middle-class ‘girl next door’ of Turkish descent and a promising amateur boxer. In over 50 fights, no one has ever hit her face. Michele is the same age, all German and dirt poor. Her criminal record is long, but her talent in the ring phenomenal. Both girls are frontrunners for the upcoming championships – the only thing standing in their way is each other.
Pulled in conflicting directions by coaches, family and friends who have all invested in their success or failure, Aiyla and Michele’s own desires have gotten lost along the way. All these girls crave is to win the title – but what they really need is someone they can be their genuine selves with.
